La Bajada Ranch Open House
Please see the press release below and come out to the ranch for the open house. It isn’t often that this special property is open to the public. Walk the grounds, explore trails and check out one of the largest ponds in the area. The main house is shuttered for health and safety reasons, but you can peek through the windows of the sprawling ranch style house.
Refreshments and information will be available in the foreman’s house just below the corrals toward the ponds. LCVA will provide drinks and chips and would also like to provide homemade salsas and baked goods to share with guests. Please contact Carl Dickens at [email protected] to let him know what you can donate. You can bring what you make with you to the open house or drop it off with Carl Dickens at the community center from 8:15am to 8:45am Saturday morning.
Volunteers are also needed to manage refreshments in one or two hour shifts, respond to guest inquiries or tell stories about the area. We hope to have representatives from the acequias, the planning committee and residents who have an interest and understanding of the history and traditions of our community. Please let Carl know if you would like to volunteer.
This is an important opportunity for La Cienega, La Cieneguilla and El Canon residents to show the rest of Santa Fe County a little of our community hospitality.
