Robbery!
The following incident happened on March 14. The report comes from resident Billy Schenck who lives on Los Pinos Road in the JB Jackson house. Billy’s house was burglarized last Saturday, March 14th at approximately 3:30 p.m. and what was stolen has great value and historical significance. The stolen items are two Anasazi, Black on White pitchers, approximately 6-1/2” high.
If you happen to see these pitchers or hear of anyone trying to sell them, please notify Santa Fe Police (Case # 0215003742) at 505-986-2400 or call Mr. Schenck at 505-438-8350 (office) or on my cell 505-412-0421.
Please forward this email to anyone who you think may be able to find these pitchers. There is a reward for information leading to the safe return of the pitchers. Mr. Schenck thanks everyone in advance for their assistance.
Archaeological Volunteers Needed
The following comes from community friend William Mee, President of the Agua Fria Village Association. Please take advantage of this great opportunity.
URGENT NEED FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL VOLUNTEERS!
To date, some 16 to 18 volunteers from the community, the Santa Fe Archaeological Society, and the Friends of the Museum have assisted in this project at the Agua Fria Community Water Association tank down in Agua Fria Village near San Isidro Church. At least 3 professional archaeologists also have contributed their time and expertise. Phase III work has now begun, and we are in need of volunteers, both in the laboratory and field. You can reach us at 984-1151 and ask for Holly or stop by the site and visit. With the recent time change, we start at 10:00 and finish around 4:00.
Proposed Location for Future Community Park – Community Center
The LCVA Board and members of the future community center committee will be touring the proposed location for a future community park and new community. The location is on the north side of the road that connects Los Pinos to Paseo Rael below the La Cienega Mutual Domestic Water Association water tank.
The LCVA is hopeful we can get the County to flag the area so residents can get a sense of where the future community park and center may be located.
Water Monitoring
The agreement between the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources and El Rancho de las Golondrinas (fiscal agent) for our community’s comprehensive water monitoring is almost complete. Please look for notices explaining how you can contribute to the monitoring effort.
